Grace For The days Ahead

Scripture: Genesis 6:5–8

There are seasons when evil no longer hides; it becomes grounded, defended, and even celebrated. In Noah’s day, the Bible says the thoughts of men were continually evil. Violence filled the earth; people had gone far from God, yet life continued as usual.

Then one verse interrupts the norm:

But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.

Noah did not find grace in an easy world. He found grace in a wicked one when others were losing spiritual sensitivity. He found grace when sin had become normal when a whole generation was moving toward destruction without knowing it.

That grace was not just a nice compliment about Noah; it became Noah’s advantage in a generation that was about to be judged. Grace made God notice Noah and showed him what others could not see. God revealed coming judgment, gave him instructions for survival, and prepared him for a future that nobody else was preparing for.

Grace is God’s ability to position a person ahead of events. Before famine came, Joseph received grace to interpret dreams. Before destruction came upon Sodom, Lot received warning. Before the flood came, Noah received instructions.

Today, we need grace that would keep us from being swallowed by the spirit of our generation, grace that opens our ears when God is speaking, grace that makes us uncomfortable with what everyone else has accepted, and grace that preserves us before the rain of judgment begins.

In a world where evil is becoming louder, grace will make our lives distinct without apology. Grace will cause us to stand out when others are blending in and preserve us when others are being swept away. People may call it luck; they may call it survival. They may say we were fortunate, but we will know the truth: it is grace.

May our cry in this generation be simple and desperate: Lord, let me find grace in Your eyes.

Prayer: Lord, in this wicked world, do not let me be lost with the crowd. Let me find grace in Your sight. Let Your grace correct me, guide me, separate me, preserve me, and prepare me for what is ahead. Amen.
