There are moments in Scripture where God does not need to speak loudly for His sovereignty to be seen; He simply moves what no man can move. Noah’s story carries one of such moments.
The ark was ready; the rain was coming; judgment had been announced, but there was still one impossible part of the assignment: the animals had to enter the ark. Who would gather the lion, direct the eagle, persuade the serpent, or wait for the snail? Who would tell the creatures of the field, the birds of the air, and the creeping things of the earth that they were to enter the ark?
Noah built the ark, but Noah could not summon creation; that part belonged to God.
Scripture says, “There went in two and two unto Noah into the ark, male and female…” The animals did not come by accident; they were not wandering aimlessly. They came because the Creator commanded His creatures. The wild became orderly, the scattered became directed, and even the slow creatures came on time. The snail did not miss the ark, the tortoise was not stranded on the way, Noah did not have to be scouting for male and female animals, and no two male animals entered the ark.
This is not ordinary movement; this is divine orchestration. God did not only command the strong and the swift; He governs the slow, the weak, the hidden, and the easily forgotten. Nothing necessary for His purpose was left behind because nothing was moving by chance.
This shows how intentional God is. Nothing required for God’s purpose will arrive late when it is moving under His command. He is present in the process; He works in places our hands cannot reach. He arranges details our eyes cannot see; He governs timing, movement, provision, protection, and outcomes.
Sometimes we obey God and then panic over the parts we cannot control. We build the ark, then worry over the animals. We do our part, then fear that God may not do His. If God gives the instruction, He knows how to support it. If He commands preparation, He knows how to provide what the future will require. If He sends you into a season, He knows how to make available what will keep you from being stranded.
Your obedience is not happening in isolation; God is already working around it. So, build what He told you to build; stop trying to command what only God can command. The flood may be coming, but you will not be stranded. God has already made arrangements.
Prayer: Lord, strengthen my faith to trust Your sovereignty. Help me to obey my part and rest in Your ability to do Yours. Command what I cannot command, gather what I cannot gather, and make available all that Your purpose requires. Amen.
