What have you been saying since the battle began?
Perhaps the delay has lasted so long that hopeless words now come naturally. You wake up expecting another disappointment. You look at the situation and say, “Nothing will change.” You consider how tired you are and conclude, “I cannot continue.”
God interrupts the voice of weakness this morning with a command:
“Let the weak say, I am strong.”
He knows you are weak; He sees the tears, the pressure, and the strength that has almost run out. Yet He refuses to allow your weakness to determine your words. The time has come for you to stop repeating what the situation is saying and begin declaring what God has said.
At creation, darkness covered everything. There was no light to point to and no visible sign that light was coming. Yet God spoke: “Let there be light.” He did not describe the darkness; He called forth what He wanted to see. There may be darkness around you today, but do not give darkness your voice.
Do not keep saying, “I am finished,” when God is still writing your story. Do not say, “There is no way out,” when God can make a way where none is visible. Do not call the situation dead when the God of resurrection is still present.
Your tongue can become the loudest supporter of your fear or the instrument through which faith rises again. Scripture says that death and life are in the power of the tongue. Your words can keep your heart buried beneath discouragement, or they can awaken the courage to stand.
Some battles have already entered our speech. We speak about the problem more confidently than we speak about God. We magnify what is against us and whisper about the One who is for us. We pray for change and then spend the day declaring that change is impossible.
Today, say something different. Say, “I am strong,” even when your knees feel weak, because God is your strength and you do not trust your own strength.
Say, “I will rise again.”
Say, “This situation will not bury me.”
Say, “God has not finished with me.”
Say, “Light will break through this darkness.”
Say, “There is still life, still hope, and still a way forward.”
Your words are not a substitute for prayer or action; they are an agreement with God. You are refusing to let fear write the conclusion; you are calling your heart back to faith and declaring that the present condition will not have the final word.
Stop using your mouth to strengthen what is trying to weaken you. The weakness may be genuine, but so is the strength of God. Therefore, let the weak say: “I am strong.”
Prayer
Lord, deliver me from words that strengthen fear, hopelessness, and defeat. Even when I feel weak, help me to speak from confidence in You. Today, I declare that You are my strength, my situation can change, and darkness will not have the final word. Amen.
