There are moments when silence can tempt the heart to make wrong conclusions. When wickedness appears undisturbed, when prayers seem to rise without visible answer, the soul can begin to act as though God has not heard; this may not always be in open words but deep inside. You may still pray, speak the language of faith, and yet inwardly carry the suspicion that heaven has not taken in the full weight of what is happening.

“He that planted the ear, shall he not hear?” Hearing did not come from nowhere. The One who gave man the capacity to receive sound cannot be less than what He made. The Creator is not inferior to His creation. He is not shut out from the cries, words, mutterings, groanings, accusations, and secret conversations of men. Nothing reaches human ears that is hidden from Him and nothing spoken in bitterness, oppression, deceit, or pain escapes His hearing.

This is important because one of the enemy’s oldest weapons is to make people feel unseen and unheard in the middle of what they are going through. If he cannot stop the prayer, he will try to poison it. He will press thoughts that the heavens are closed, that the matter is forgotten, too small, too tangled, or too delayed for God to attend to. But God does not hear less perfectly than the ear He formed. He does not struggle to pick up what is whispered, hidden, or inward. He hears completely.

Also, He does not hear only words. He hears what words are carrying. He hears fear beneath speech, weariness beneath restraint, grief beneath silence, and longing beneath tears. Men often hear sounds and still miss meaning. God does not. He hears with full knowledge. He hears the cry beneath the sentence and the wound beneath the composure. A person may speak lightly before others and stand before God with a heart that is breaking open. Nothing in that inward place is lost on Him.

The verse also reveals, “He that formed the eye, shall he not see?” So, it is not only that He hears what is spoken. He sees what is done. He sees what people hid behind closed doors. He sees the injustice nobody defended. He sees the burden nobody understood. He sees the strain behind the smile. He sees the cost of obedience. He sees what has been stolen, twisted, delayed, or mishandled. There is no darkness thick enough to make God a stranger to the truth.

As a result, the righteous must be careful not to interpret divine silence as divine ignorance. God’s stillness is not blindness. His delay is not lack of awareness; He is not absent from the scene; He is not waiting for evidence to surface; He sees fully and hears fully.

So, when the heart begins to sink under the thought that your cries have gone nowhere, answer it with this verse. The God who formed the ear has heard. The God who formed the eye has seen. What has been said, what has been done, what has been endured, and what has been concealed from men, all of it lies open before Him. He hears more deeply than you know, and He sees more clearly than you can tell. The One who created the ear is not deaf to your cry.

Lord, break every lie in me that suggests You have not heard. Over every matter I have placed before You, let the God who hears and sees arise and make Himself known, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
