How does a shepherd write something that connects with what a king would later write? How does a fisherman continue a story begun by prophets centuries before him? How does a tax collector record truths that harmonize with revelations given long before his birth?

The answer is simple: It is God’s revelation of Himself to man, because behind every writer stands a greater author, and behind every word stands the breath of God. This is why the Bible remains unlike every other book ever written.

Father, forgive me for every time I have treated Your Word nonchalantly. Let me never lose my awe for the Scriptures. As I read Your Word, help me to hear Your voice, know Your heart, and walk in Your truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
