The Hand That Sustains

Scripture: Psalm 145:16

Song: Jehovah Jireh by Dominion Tribe

God does not create and abandon.

He does not form life and leave it stranded. He does not call a thing into being and then become inconsiderate about what it needs to survive, grow, and fulfil purpose. The God who creates is also the God who sustains. The One who gives breath also knows how to give bread.

Psalm 145:16: โ€œThou openest thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing.โ€

Todayโ€™s verse does not show us a reluctant God. It shows us a generous God, a God whose care is not shallow, a God who sees desire, knows need, understands hunger, and has the power to satisfy rightly.

Many times, our fear comes because we look at what is in our hands and forget what is in His hand. Our hands may be limited, our strength may be small, even human help may fail, and opportunities may look scarce, but Godโ€™s hand is not like manโ€™s hand. His hand carries supply, mercy, favour, wisdom, strength, peace, and provision. He is not only the Maker of the heavens and the earth. He is the Supplier of what He has made.

A father who brings a child into the world does not rejoice in seeing that child stranded. How much more the Father of spirits? How much more the God who knows the number of hairs on our head? How much more the One who feeds the birds, clothes the lilies, and remembers the needs of His people?

Lack must not be allowed to define Godโ€™s heart; delay must not be allowed to accuse His goodness. difficult season must not make us believe that God has forgotten how to provide. He remains the God whose treasure store is full and knows how to send help, create channels, raise men, give wisdom, supply strength, and satisfy the desires of His children according to His will.

There are blessings that come only when God opens His hand. There is help that comes from His treasure store, supply that does not depend on human pity, favour that enters places where your name could not enter, strength that rises when your own strength has failed, and peace that calms the heart in chaos.

Deuteronomy 28:12 says, โ€œThe Lord shall open unto thee his good treasureโ€ฆโ€ That is the picture of divine supply. God has treasures that can answer needs, open paths, water dry places, and bless the work of His peopleโ€™s hands.

Do not lessen God to โ€œCreatorโ€ alone. He is Sustainer.; He is Provider, Father and the One who knows what you need before you ask, yet still invites you to ask. He is the One whose hand can satisfy what human hands cannot reach.

So lift your need before Him without shame. Ask Him to open His hand, to open His good treasure, bless the work of your hands, and supply what is needed for the journey, because God does not create and leave stranded what He made, He can sustain it.

Prayer

Lord, You are not only my Creator; You are my Supplier and Sustainer. Open Your hand and good treasure over my life. Let Your blessing reach every place where I have been empty, stretched, and weary. Bless the work of my hands and do not let me be stranded In Jesusโ€™ name, amen.
