Yesterday’s devotional describes strength in waiting on God. It reminds us that God is everlasting, never weary, and able to strengthen the faint. He does not leave you with only comfort for survival; He gives you a promise and movement. Waiting on God is not meant to keep you stuck; it is meant to carry you into a change you could not produce by yourself. “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.” It shows your natural limit is replaced by a supply that is not yours. It means the waiting is not empty time; it is the place where God releases a different kind of strength that produces a different kind of outcome. The outcome of waiting on God is the center of today’s study and shows that that this strength is supernatural.
This outcome is seen boldly in verse 31, “They shall mount up with wings as eagles.” Eagles do not climb by struggling; they rise by catching a wind higher than themselves. That is what God does when He renews you. He lifts you into a realm where what was weighing you can no longer dominate you. The situation may have tried to press your head down, but waiting on God raises your head again. He gives you height and perspective that is not ruled by fear, confidence that is not controlled by delay, vision that is not limited to what you can touch. When God lifts you, it is not only your mood that changes; your level changes. You begin to move above the old ceiling. You begin to live from above the storm, not under it. This is a promise of elevation of spiritual altitude that only God can grant.
Then Isaiah says, “They shall run, and not be weary.” Running speaks of momentum; movement, progress, doors of opportunities opening. Some people fear running because they think acceleration must come with exhaustion. But the strength God gives does not drain you as you move. It sustains you while you advance. It is the grace to carry speed without fainting and stepping into what God is doing without being crushed by it. When God renews your strength, He does not only help you endure; He empowers you to advance. Waiting on God produces not just survival, but supernatural stamina for what is next.
Whether God gives you sudden lift, fast movement, or steady progress, His strength holds you through the entire journey. “They shall walk, and not faint”. The promise is not that you will never face resistance; the promise is that resistance will not finish you. Waiting on God produces results that striving cannot. Human effort can do much, but it cannot produce spiritual altitude, spiritual stamina, and enduring grace. Those are the signatures of the Lord’s strength.
Today, let faith rise in you again. Your waiting is not evidence that nothing is happening; it is evidence that God is preparing a release that will require His strength, not yours. This is why the enemy fights waiting with discouragement because if you keep waiting, your strength will be renewed. If your strength is renewed, you will rise and move with divine acceleration. What was impossible by effort becomes possible by grace. The supernatural results you desire are not birthed by pressure; they are produced by waiting on the Lord.
Prayer: My Father, renew my strength and lift my soul above every weight and discouragement. Cause me to mount up with wings as an eagle and let Your power bring the change only You can produce in my situation, in Jesus’ name, amen.
