Sometimes poverty is not only a spiritual problem, it is a behavioral one.

Laziness exists, but it rarely looks like doing nothing. More often, it shows up as delay; procrastination. Knowing what to do but postponing it, starting things and not finishing them, waiting for motivation instead of acting on responsibility. That habit alone has kept many people poor, not because opportunities were absent, but because action was delayed until chances expired.

Another issue is lack of wisdom. Not intelligence, but foresight. Not thinking ahead, not planning, not learning, not improving skills, not managing money properly. Many people pray for open doors while ignoring the simple disciplines that make progress possible.

Some people are not poor because there is no opportunity. They are poor because they don’t want process. They want quick money, quick breakthrough, quick results. So they jump from one thing to another, start but don’t finish, and end up with stories but no progress. Poverty loves scattered people. It feeds on distraction.

However, God does not move people from poverty to wealth by dropping money on them. He starts by raising the person on the inside, because poverty is not only a condition around you; it can become a mindset within you, and if that mindset is not broken, wealth can come and still leave, or come and create bigger problems.

Then, God’s power that brings wealth gives insight that makes you finally see what has been defeating you: patterns, choices, distractions, fear, and delay. Many people stay poor because they keep repeating the same habits with different prayers. But when God’s power visits you, you begin to see clearly. You stop calling laziness “waiting.” or procrastination “timing.” You stop calling waste “enjoyment.” Light is power, because once you can see, you can’t keep living blindly.

God begins to raise your discipline. This is one of the most underrated miracles. There is a kind of help that doesn’t look spiritual, but it is. Suddenly you can sit down and learn. You can follow through, you can finish what you start, you can wake up and do what you said you would do, you can say no to things that drain you. Many people are not poor because they don’t have opportunities; they are poor because they don’t have the discipline to hold one opportunity long enough for it to grow. When God raises a man, He gives him power over himself.

The power that gives wealth raises your skill and value. It starts pushing you toward growth: new knowledge, better work, sharper thinking, wiser decisions. Wealth is attracted to value. God is not just interested in blessing you; He is interested in making you fruitful. This is why the power to get wealth is not magic. It is grace that makes you grow.

God also raises a man by changing his relationships and environments. Some people remain poor because their circle is expensive, distracting, and unwise. Their friends don’t push them forward; they pull them into waste. Their environment keeps feeding bad habits. When God begins to raise you, He starts directing who you listen to, where you go, and what you keep around you. One of the signs that God is lifting you is that you become uncomfortable with the abnormal things that used to feel normal.

Finally, God begins to open doors. because the person can now carry what the door brings. Opportunities, favour, contracts, jobs, clients, helpers, these things begin to appear. But the difference is that now, you have power to manage what comes. You don’t ruin it with haste. You don’t waste it with excitement. You don’t lose it through carelessness. Wealth doesn’t just visit you; it starts to stay.

The biggest battle is not outside you. It’s the part of you that poverty has trained with fear, impatience, excuses, shortcuts, and survival thinking. When God’s power enters, it breaks that training. It raises you into a new level of power to get wealth.

Prayer: Father, I’m tired of cycles that return me to lack. Change my thinking, discipline my habits, and break patterns that keep me small. Raise me by Your power. Give me power to get wealth and to sustain it. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
