There are seasons in life when God’s work does not feel pleasant. It feels like pressure, it feels like things are being disturbed because what seemed settled becomes heaviness, and what felt secure no longer feels the same. In such moments, the natural response is to think something is going wrong. Yet there are times when God is not destroying a man; He is preparing him.

Crushing is never a pleasant process, but it is often a necessary one. There are things God wants to bring out of your life that cannot come forth while everything remains untouched. There are depths He wants to form, graces He wants to release, and capacities He wants to build that will not emerge in comfort. Some things only flow when the vessel has gone through pressing.

Often, people misunderstand this by interpreting pressure as abandonment, when in truth He may be doing some of His deepest work. He sees beyond the present discomfort and focuses on what the process is meant to produce. What feels like loss may actually be preparation; what feels like disruption may be the hand of God reshaping a life for greater purpose.

New wine requires a new vessel. God will not pour something fresh into a life that insists on remaining rigid, old, and unchanged. He prepares the vessel before He releases what it is meant to carry. He stretches, He deals, He removes, and He refines. The process is uncomfortable precisely because change is taking place.

Do not despise the season that is pressing you. Stay yielded under God’s hand. Let Him do the work you cannot do for yourself. There is something He is making of your life that could not have come any other way. When the process is complete, it will be clear that the pressure was not wasted. God was making room for something fresh.

Prayer:
Lord, I submit to Your process. In this season that feels uncomfortable, help me to trust You. Remove what cannot carry what You want to pour. Shape me into a vessel that can hold Your purpose, Your grace, and what You are bringing forth in this season. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
