What God places within a believer is not meant to lie dormant. Jesus said, “Out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water,” and that means the presence of God in a life is meant to have visible expression. If the Spirit truly dwells within a man, then something must flow out that proves God is there. Christianity was never meant to be an inward claim with no outward evidence.

A river does not hide itself. It moves, cuts through ground, and changes its surroundings. In the same way, when the Spirit of God is at work within a believer, there should be unmistakable signs. Strength, peace, wisdom, power, and grace should flow out. There should be something in your life that cannot be explained by mere personality, routine, or religious appearance. The river of God is not given so that a believer may remain ordinary in expression, barren in impact, and empty in evidence.

Many want the language of the river, but not the demand of its flow. Many are content to say God is with them, yet there is little in their life that carries the fragrance, force, or proof of His presence. But if rivers truly flow from within, then your life cannot be consistently dry, shallow, careless, prayerless, powerless, and still expect to bear convincing witness that God is at work in you. The river must be seen.

If God is with you, let it show in your character, speech, consecration, prayer life, and discernment. Let it show in your authority over sin, in your spiritual seriousness, and in the weight your life carries before men. A believer should not be a locked vessel full of claims and empty of proof. The river within should break into conduct, depth, stature, and visible evidence.

This is not a call to performance, but a call to honesty. If the river has been reduced to a trickle, if compromise has blocked it, if distraction has choked it, if carnality has buried it, then the right response is not pretense but prayer. Cry to God until what He has placed within you begins to move again. The world has seen enough believers who speak of God but carry little visible evidence that He is near. The hour demands lives from which the river can be seen, felt, and encountered.

Jesus did not promise a hidden reservoir for private admiration. He promised rivers, and rivers are meant to flow.

Prayer
Lord, let Your river in me break every blockage. Let there be undeniable evidence in my life that You are with me. Strip away dryness, compromise, carnality, and spiritual laziness. Cause wisdom, purity, boldness, power, grace, and holy weight to flow out of me.
