Sickness is not a small matter. It drains strength, swallows time, eats resources, and can quietly attack faith. It can make a person feel trapped in their own body, tired of appointments, tired of medicines, tired of waiting, and tired of hearing “let’s see.” Many have prayed and still feel the ache. Some have begun to wonder, in their private space, “Does God still heal, or is healing for another time?”
God still heals.
When God revealed Himself in Scripture as the Lord who heals, He was not offering a temporary idea. He was revealing His nature. Healing is not a rumor about God; it is part of His covenant character. He is not indifferent to disease, nor is He impressed by diagnosis. He is not limited by how long it has lasted. He is Jehovah Rapha – God our Healer.
The woman with the issue of blood carries the voice of many suffering people. Her condition was long, persistent, and costly. She spent all she had. She endured disappointment after disappointment. Her story teaches us that the length of her affliction did not cancel the possibility of healing. The money she had spent did not disqualify her. The worsening situation did not mean God had abandoned her. She heard about Jesus and dared to believe that even one touch could change what years had sustained.
When she pressed through and touched Him, the Scripture says the flow stopped immediately. That detail is hope for someone today. God can heal instantly. God can interrupt what has become “normal.” God can stop what has refused to stop. The same Jesus who carried healing virtue then has not lost it now. His power has not expired. His compassion has not cooled. His arm is not short.
Sometimes healing is immediate. Sometimes it unfolds as God strengthens you day by day and guides you through steps, treatment, wisdom, and support. Either way, healing remains God’s work. The method may differ, but the message is the same: you are not abandoned in sickness. You are not forgotten in pain. You are not beyond God.
Psalm 103 says God heals all diseases and redeems your life from destruction. That statement is not meant to shame anyone who is still waiting; it is meant to plant hope in anyone who is tired. It reminds you that sickness is not the final authority over your life. God has the final word. The body may be fighting, but heaven is not silent. Your prayers are not wasted. Your tears are not unseen. Your case is not too hard.
Sickness often leaves a shadow: fear of the next symptom, anxiety about the next report, heaviness from long battles, and exhaustion from repeated cycles. But I need you to remember: Healing is not only the removal of symptoms; it is the restoration of wholeness, and God is still in the business of healing the body, and He also restores the mind. He is at work in your life.
Today, let hope return where despair has tried to settle. Let faith rise again, even if it rises slowly. You are not holding on to a theory; you are holding on to a Healer. God is working out your healing, and your situation still has hope.
Prayer
Lord, You are the God who heals. I refuse hopelessness. I receive Your healing power over my body and strength over my mind. Let sickness lose its hold. Let my body respond to Your touch. Let my heart receive hope to trust your word again, and let my life carry evidence of Your restoring hand.
