There is this kind of waiting that doesn’t just test patience; it tests the heart. You know what God said, you remember the moments He assured you. Yet days keep passing, and the promise looks quiet. That silence can make people feel forgotten.
The Shunammite woman knew that feeling. A word came through Elisha, and what looked impossible became real; she received her child. But then the unthinkable happened; the very thing God gave seemed to collapse. In that moment, she could have concluded, “God has left me.” Instead, she made a shocking decision. When asked, she said, “It is well.”
She wasn’t denying the pain. She was refusing to let pain have the final word.
That is the faith God is calling you into today; not the faith that never feels, but the faith that still returns to God with what hurts. The Shunammite woman didn’t sit down with disappointment and make it her home. She got up and went back to the Source of the promise. She held on until help came.
If you’re in a season where things seem delayed, hear this clearly- delay is not denial. God is not ignoring you, He is not distracted. God is not cruel, He is working in ways you can’t yet see, arranging timings you can’t yet measure, preparing outcomes you can’t yet imagine.
You may feel unseen, but you are not unremembered.
You may feel stuck, but you are not abandoned.
You may feel tired, but you are not finished.
Let your hope breathe again. Let your faith rise again. Even if your voice shakes, say it like the Shunammite woman, because you belong to the God who restores, completes, and surprises:
It is well. It shall be well!!! I am not forgotten. God’s word over my life is still alive. What He promised, He will perform, and it shall be well.
Prayer
Father, revive my hope, where waiting has weakened me, strengthen me again. Let Your promise speak louder than delay, and let my testimony be sure: it shall be well, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
